Those with multiple employees with an employed contract who contribute as self-employed are unaware they could have paid more to Social Security than they should. It is common to exceed the maximum quote and not know it, so if you combine the two quotes, you should know that you can recover part of what you paid.

What is the maximum quote?

The maximum contribution for 2015 is €12,245.98. You can claim your refund if you have exceeded that amount.

How do I recover what they owe me?

The following is reported in the general budgets:

“The refund will be made at the request of the interested party, who must make it within the first four months of the following financial year.”

This means that the deadline to claim your money ends next April 30 and that you will not be able to do anything once that day has passed.

To recover your money, you must fill out and submit an improper income form to Social Security before that day.

When will you get your money back?

The process is straightforward, and the refund occurs in a short time, but remember that you must meet the three requirements to obtain it:

  • Work as an employee and freelancer.
  • Exceed the maximum quote.
  • Submit the model before April 30.

Now you know how to claim what belongs to you.
